Majestic Hires New Sales VP with Close Ties to Nucor

Majestic Steel USA Inc. has hired Sean Madigan as Vice President of Sales, Manufacturing. Madigan joins Majestic from Nucor, where he served as the Sales and Marketing Manager for Nucor Steel Arkansas.
Madigan’s experience with Nucor was integral to the startup of the company’s new coating line, and he will continue to be a critical part of the Majestic-Nucor partnership and other strategic supply relationships. His responsibilities as a Vice President of Sales will include leading the commercial startup of Majestic’s processing facility in Hickman, Ark., to further expand Majestic’s business in the manufacturing sector, Majestic CEO Todd Leebow said.
Prior to Nucor, Madigan was Majestic Steel’s Director of OEM and Service Center Sales. His experience also includes positions with the former AK Steel, now Cleveland-Cliffs. He holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Miami University.

Headquartered in Cleveland, Majestic Steel USA is a privately held and family owned distributor and processor of flat-rolled steel, serving customers in manufacturing, construction and distribution from its network of locations throughout North America.

Nucor holds weekly HRC price steady after last week’s cut
Nucor chose to hold its consumer spot price (CSP) for hot-rolled (HR) coil steady this week after stunning the market last week with a significant price decline. The steelmaker said in a letter to customers on Monday morning that its $760-per-short-ton (st) CSP base price for HR coil is effective immediately. The price is unchanged from the CSP announced on May 6 but down $65/st from $825/st April 29.
Nucor’s Jellison set to retire, Spicer tapped for EVP role
