Majestic to Build New Service Center at Nucor Steel Arkansas

Majestic Steel USA will build a new service center, processing facility and master distribution site on the campus of Nucor Steel Arkansas.
The Cleveland-based service center said the new location in Blytheville, Ark., would allow it to better serve customers in the central and southern U.S.
The facility – expected to be fully operational by the end of 2022 – will also benefit from being near a new galvanizing line that Nucor is building at Nucor Steel Arkansas, Majestic said in a press release on Monday, Aug. 30.
“Our intention with this investment is to offer our customers in the region the combined benefit of localized service and national resources,” Majestic President and CEO Todd Leebow said.
The new service center is also expected to create approximately 225 jobs.
“This partnership with Majestic brings economic development and jobs to our local community and is an example of the positive economic impact generated by steel industry investment,” Nucor Steel Arkansas Vice President and General Manager Troy Brooks said.
Majestic has been aggressively expanding over the last year not just in the Midwest and South but also on the West Coast.
The company earlier this month announced that it had acquired West Coast service center Merit Steel USA to expand its presence in the region. That came after Majestic late last year acquired a Las Vegas-based steel service center and processor P&S Metals and Supply.
