    Written by David Schollaert

Nucor said on Monday, Aug. 31, that its consumer spot price (CSP) for hot-rolled (HR) coil will be $1,185 per short ton (st) this week, a $5/st increase from a week earlier.

The CSP for HR coil from California Steel Industries (CSI) on the West Coast will be $1,245/st, also up $5/st from the prior week.

Nucor has now upped the CSP for six straight weeks, taking the price up $50/st over that span. The steelmaker has increased or held its weekly CSP every week since Oct. 27, 2025, a run of $310/st over the past 10 months.

Nucor is still offering lead times of three to five weeks, according to the letter to customers, unchanged since the launch of CSP back on April 8, 2024.
