Obituary: Hascall Steel Founder Wayne Hascall

The founder of Hascall Steel, Wayne Charles Hascall, passed away on July 29 at the age of 88.
Hascall was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He also served his country as a proud member of the United States Marine Corps.
Following his service, Hascall graduated from the University of Iowa. He in 1971 founded Hascall Steel Co., which remains a successful family business to this day.
Hascall was a mentor to many who will remember him as honest, consistent, witty, and a brilliant strategist. His sharp mind allowed him to become a Platinum Life Master Bridge Player.
He loved to play bridge. In fact, Hascall often said that the best of everything he enjoyed in life came from the people he met playing bridge.
The leadership and employees of Hascall Steel owe a great debt to Wayne and his work ethic. He established the principles and market strategies that continue to serve Hascall Steel. He will be missed.
Wayne’s memorial service will be held on August 6th from 2-4 pm at The Spring Lake Country Club, Grand Rapids, Mich.
