Ford Motor Co. started a planned outage early at its Chicago assembly plant due to a supply chain issue.
“We pulled ahead a planned down week at Chicago Assembly Plant because of a supply chain disruption,” a spokesman for the automaker said.
The company expects to resume production May 19.
Ford declined to specify the nature of the disruption.
The facility produces the Ford Explorer, Police Interceptor Utility, and Lincoln Aviator. It employed about 4,713 as of 2024.
