Independent galvanizer and coil coater AZZ Inc. announced it has agreed to acquire Canton Galvanizing LLC.
Established in 2019, the privately held hot-dip galvanizer in Canton, Ohio, specializes in coating small to mid-size parts.
Terms of the deal were not provided.
Upon closing, the facility will be called AZZ Galvanizing – Canton East LLC.
“We are pleased to add Canton’s galvanizing operations and expand our geographical coverage in the Midwest region of the United States,” said Bryan Stovall, AZZ’s president and chief operating officer of metal coatings.
The acquisition brings to life previous comments made by AZZ CEO Tom Ferguson, who has said the company would seek M&A opportunities, particularly in the galvanizing sector.
Stovall noted the purchase increases the metal coating capacity of Fort Worth, Texas-based AZZ and strengthens its network of over 40 coating facilities across North America.
