Nucor ups HR coil prices by $15/ton to $910/ton

Nucor has increased its consumer spot price (CSP) for hot-rolled (HR) coil for a fourth consecutive week.

As of Monday, Nov. 17, the steelmaker’s list price for HR stood at $910 per short ton (st), up $15/st from last week.

It’s the first time its CSP has been at or above $900/st since July 28, according to SMU’s mill price announcement calendar.

The company has increased HR prices by $35/st over the past four weeks.

Nucor’s West Coast joint venture, California Steel Industries (CSI), increased its HR price by $10/st week on week (w/w) to $960/st.

Despite the repeated price bump, lead times for all spot orders remain at 3-5 weeks, Nucor said.

SMU’s HRC price averaged $830/st fob mill, east of the Rockies, as of Tuesday, Nov. 11. That’s up $5/st w/w.

You can find weekly price assessment information each Tuesday evening.
