Update: AM Dofasco, Stelco up prices by CA$100/ton
Written by Ethan Bernard
ArcelorMittal Dofasco and Stelco are aiming to increase by prices by a minimum of CA$100 per short ton (US$72) (st), effective immediately.
Hamilton, Ontario-based AM Dofasco and fellow Canadian steelmaker issued announcements to customers on Monday.
AM Dofasco noted in its letter that the hike on spot market base prices applies to all new orders, and that all extras will continue to apply.
In its separate announcement, Stelco said the increase applies to all products.
Last month, the two companies announced another CA$100/st price rise.
