    Nucor increases HR spot price by $5/ton

    Nucor increased its weekly hot-rolled coil spot list price by $5 per short ton (st) on Monday, Dec. 1. This was its sixth increase in as many weeks, moving up $45/st over that span.

    The Charlotte, N.C.-based steelmaker announced its HR consumer spot price (CSP) is $920/st this week, up from $915/st last week.

    Nucor’s West Coast joint venture, California Steel Industries (CSI), also increased its HR price to $970/st. That’s up $5/st week on week (w/w).

    Lead times for all spot orders remain at 3-5 weeks, Nucor said.

    SMU’s HRC price averaged $870/st fob mill, east of the Rockies, as of Tuesday, Nov. 25. That’s up $10/st w/w.
