    Nucor ups HRC spot price by $5/st

    Nucor’s consumer spot price (CSP) for hot-rolled coil increased to $1,010 per short ton (st), up $5/st from last week. 

    The Charlotte, N.C.-based steelmaker said in a letter on Monday, March 9, the CSP for its West Coast joint venture, California Steel Industries (CSI), is also up $5/st week on week (w/w) to $1,060/st. 

    Lead times of 3 to 5 weeks will continue to be offered, according to the letter. 

    SMU’s HRC spot price averaged $1,005/st fob mill, east of the Rockies, as of Tuesday, March 3, up $25/st vs. the previous week’s assessment.
