Nucor nudges up spot HR price by another $5/ton

Nucor announced on Tuesday, May 26, that its consumer spot price (CSP) for hot-rolled coil will be $1,095 per short ton (st) for the week, up $5/st from last week.
The CSP for HR from CSI on the West Coast will be $1,145, also up $5/st.
Lead times of 3 to 5 weeks will continue to be offered, said a letter to customers.
Nucor has increased its HR spot price by $5 to 15/st each week since the week of Jan. 20.

SMU’s weekly price assessment pegged HR coil prices at $1,070/st to $1,110/st, with an average of $1,090/st as of Tuesday, May 19. We will update our prices on the evening of May 26.
