Atlas Tube, Maruichi USA to form JV

Atlas Tube, a Zekelman company, said on Friday it had agreed to form a joint venture with Maruichi USA.
The JV will combine the operations of Atlas Tube and Maruichi USA under Atlas Tube’s management, the company said.
Maruichi USA is a North American manufacturer of steel tubular products, pipes, and stainless-steel tubing. The company produces precision steel tubing and piping used in the automotive, construction, and infrastructure sectors with six locations across the US and Mexico.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, though it’s expected to be finalized in late June.
Further details will arrive upon completion of customary due diligence and final legal documentation, the company said.
Zekelman is the largest independent steel pipe and tube manufacturer in the US. Its portfolio includes Wheatland Tube, Atlas Tube, Sharon Tub, Picoma, and Western Tube, as well as modular building companies Z Modular and Hayes Modular.
