    Nucor Plate Group keeps fuel surcharge unchanged for July

    Nucor Plate Group will maintain its previously announced fuel surcharge of $10 per short ton (st) for next month, effective on all shipments beginning July 1.

    The Charlotte, N.C.-based steelmaker first said the fuel surcharge was necessary in April to address rising costs.

    The surcharge was initially set at a price of at least $10/st on plate on April 16. The company has since maintained the $10/st surcharge rate on May 15 and now on June 15.

    “We remain committed to providing reliable service and transparency as we adapt to changing market dynamics,” Nucor said in a letter to customers on Monday evening.

    Nucor announces the surcharge amount on the 15th of each month for shipments beginning the following month.
