    Nucor increases spot HR price by $5/ton

    Nucor announced on Monday, June 22, that its consumer spot price (CSP) for hot-rolled (HR) coil will be $1,130 per short ton (st) for the week, up $5/st from last week. 

    The CSP for HR from CSI on the West Coast will be $1,180/st, also up $5/st. 

    Lead times of three to five weeks will continue to be offered, said a letter to customers. 

    Nucor has increased its HR spot price each week since the week of Jan. 27, now up $380/st over the span.

    SMU’s weekly price assessment noted HR coil prices at $1,130/st, on average, as of Tuesday, June 16. 

    We will update our prices on the evening of Tuesday, June 23.
