    Written by David Schollaert

Nucor announced on Monday, July 6, that its consumer spot price (CSP) for hot-rolled (HR) coil will remain unchanged at $1,130 per short ton (st) for the week.

This is the first time the Charlotte, N.C.-based steelmaker has maintained its CSP flat back-to-back weeks since Jan. 5. The pause comes after 23 straight weeks of increases through June 22, totaling $380/st.

The CSP for HR from CSI on the West Coast was also maintained week over week (w/w) at $1,180/st.

Lead times of three to five weeks will continue to be offered, the company said in a letter to customers.

SMU’s weekly price assessment noted HR coil prices at $1,160/st, on average, as of Tuesday, June 30.

We will update our prices on the evening of Tuesday, July 7.
