Ford plans to reshore production of Lincoln

Ford Motor Co. announced it will reshore production of Lincoln-brand vehicles as part of its commitment to American manufacturing.
The Dearborn, Mich.-based automaker said it will phase out the importation of vehicles from China for the US market and increase domestic Lincoln production starting in 2030.
The increased output will build on Lincoln’s assembly plants in Louisville, Ky. (which assembles the Navigator) and in Chicago (where the Aviator is assembled).
Thousands of direct and indirect jobs are expected to be created from the increased production.
“This wasn’t necessarily the easiest path. In fact, it’s a path most of our competitors aren’t choosing to take,” commented Ford CEO and President Jim Farley. “But Ford builds in America because we believe in America, and we’re betting on that belief again.”
Ford says it was the top automaker in US vehicle assembly in 2025, assembling more than 2 million vehicles in the US last year.
