ITC vote puts new duties on rebar imports

    Written by Laura Miller

New anti-dumping and countervailing duties (AD/CVDs) on rebar imports from three nations will officially take effect after a key vote.

The US International Trade Commission (ITC) voted in the affirmative that dumped rebar from Bulgaria, Egypt, and Vietnam, as well as subsidized product from Egypt and Vietnam, is materially injuring the domestic industry.

As a result of the ITC’s final injury determination, AD duty orders will be placed on imports from Bulgaria, Egypt, and Vietnam, and CVD orders on rebar from Bulgaria and Vietnam.

The US Department of Commerce previously set final dumping rates ranging from 34.20% to 136.57% and final subsidy rates from 6.80% to 23.27%.

Concurrently, Commerce also recently imposed stiff ADs and CVDs on rebar from Algeria.
