USS earmarks $28.3M for upgrades at Great Lakes Works in Michigan

U.S. Steel is investing $28.3 million in its Great Lakes Works in Michigan, with upgrades planned for its pickle line during a 30-day outage starting in October.

The Pittsburgh-based steelmaker said it has accepted delivery of a new, fiber-optic laser beam welder at the pickle line.
