Martin Pei

Martin Pei is SSAB’s Executive Vice President and CTO. He has been with the company since 2001 and a member of the Executive Committee since 2007. Pei is the initiator of the HYBRIT initiative, a cooperation between SSAB, LKAB, and Vattenfall, and served as the first-term chairman of the board for Hybrit Development AB. Pei is currently chairman of the board for SWERIM—the Swedish Research Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Metals Research, and a member of the board for Jernkontoret. Pei is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy for Engineering Sciences. He has been with SSAB since 2001 and a member of the Executive Committee since 2007. Pei received the Tadeusz Sendzimir Memorial Medal 2023, presented by the Association for Iron & Steel Technology, AIST, in May 2023. He has a PhD from The Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.
