The Summit will feature speakers from all facets of the steel supply chain, as well analysts, economists, and associations. You’ll hear the latest on steel prices, trade, demand, and more. And there will be ample opportunity to network and grow your industry connections.
Check out the agenda to see what topics experts will speak about at this year’s Summit.
Alternate hotels
Grab your ticket, book your hotel, and make your travel arrangements now so you can enjoy your summer and be fully prepared when August rolls around.
Speaking of hotels, our room blocks for the event are now full. And some of you have told us that prices for hotels on the campus for of the Georgia International Convention Center (GICC) are on the high side.
Here are some other hotels in the area:
- Tru by Hilton Atlanta Airport College Park – Walking distance (New hotel)
- Home2 Suites by Hilton Atlanta Airport College Park – Walking distance (New hotel)
- Atlanta Airport Marriott – 6 minutes by car
- The Westin Atlanta Airport – 4 minutes by car
- Radisson Hotel Atlanta Airport – 4 minutes by car
SMU doesn’t have any blocks or any affiliation with any of these hotels. So we can’t guarantee rates or availability. There are also plenty of search engines and website that can also help you shop and compare prices.
NexGen Award
Nominations for the recipient of the SMU NexGen Leadership Award are now closed. Who will be recognized as one of the industry’s rising talent? We’ll present the award to a well-deserved young professional at the Summit.
Please visit our website to register and for more information about the Summit.
Get ready for another exciting SMU Steel Summit!

Price: Expect new trade shocks as Trump’s ‘reciprocal’ tariff negotiations continue
President Trump cast a wide net with the proposed, reciprocal tariffs. The negotiating stage will be critical to determining the success of his strategy. And for those suffering tariff whiplash, don’t expect the pace of change to slow down just because the reciprocal tariffs are entering a negotiating phase.
