US and China delay reciprocal tariffs, Section 232 tariffs stand

US President Donald Trump extended the US and China’s 90-day pause on planned reciprocal tariffs on Monday. While the two nations continue to negotiate a trade deal, the president said he’d delay the hikes threatened in his executive order.
However, the extension does not apply to steel and aluminum tariffs, which remain separate and subject to Section 232 tariffs. The current Section 232 rate for Chinese steel imports imposed by Trump earlier this year stands at 50%.
China suspended its planned retaliatory measures for the same 90-day duration.
