Sheet and plate lead times held steady yet again this week, according to steel buyers responding to our latest market survey, a trend in place since May.
Sheet production times have stayed within a few days of multi-year lows for nearly four months. Plate lead times remain about a week longer than the low levels seen in the second half of last year.
Domestic raw steel output fell to a six-month low last week after hitting a multi-year high one week earlier, according to the latest American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) figures.
