Nucor carries $875/ton HR list price into week seven

Nucor kept its target price for hot-rolled (HR) coil unchanged again this week.
That’s according to the company’s latest consumer spot price (CSP) notice issued on Monday, Oct. 6
The Charlotte, N.C.-based steelmaker has not adjusted its HR spot price since it increased prices by $10 per short ton (st) to $875/st on Aug. 25.
Nucor also said HR pricing at its West Coast joint venture, California Steel Industries (CSI), would remain unchanged from last week at $935/st.
The steelmaker said it would continue to offer lead times of 3-5 weeks for HR.

SMU’s HR price stood at an average of $795/st as of Tuesday, Sept. 30, up $10/st vs. the prior week. The next SMU HR price update will be on Tuesday evening, Oct. 7.
SMU pegged the current HRC lead times between three and six weeks, with an average of 4.7 weeks as of Oct. 1, up marginally from 4.5 weeks in mid-September.
