Nucor keeps HR spot price at $875/ton

Nucor has left its consumer spot price (CSP) for hot-rolled coil at $875 per short ton (st) for the eighth straight week.

The Charlotte, N.C.-based steelmaker said in a letter on Monday that the CSP for its West Coast joint venture, California Steel Industries (CSI), would also remain the same as last week at $935/st.

Lead times of 3 to 5 weeks will continue to be offered, the letter said.

SMU’s HR spot price stood at an average of $795/st as of Tuesday, Oct. 7, unchanged from the previous week. The next SMU HR price update will be on Tuesday evening, Oct. 14.
