Olympic Steel taps Norred for GM role in Georgia

Olympic Steel Inc. has appointed Larry N. Norred, Jr. to the role of general manager for its Buford (fabrication) and Winder (metal processing) operations in Georgia.
The Cleveland-based national service center chain noted Norred brings more than three decades of leadership experience in the steel industry.
His most recent position was as GM of Bessemer, Ala.-based distributor KGS Steel Inc.
Norred will now be responsible for daily operations, commercial strategy, and overall performance of the Buford and Winder facilities. Also, he will report to David J. Gea, Olympic’s president – carbon flat rolled.
“Larry is a proven leader with a strong track record of building high-performing teams, expanding market share and delivering consistent results,” Gea said in a statement on Monday.
