    Nucor ups HR spot price by $5/ton

    Nucor increased its weekly hot-rolled coil spot list price by $5 per short ton (st) on Monday, Nov. 24. This was its fifth increase in as many weeks.

    The Charlotte, N.C.-based steelmaker announced its HR consumer spot price (CSP) is $915/st this week, up from $910/st last week.

    Nucor’s West Coast joint venture, California Steel Industries (CSI), also increased its HR price to $965/st. That’s up $15/st week on week (w/w).

    Lead times for all spot orders remain at 3-5 weeks, Nucor said.

    SMU’s HRC price averaged $860/st fob mill, east of the Rockies, as of Tuesday, Nov. 18. That’s up $30/st w/w.
