    Nucor ups HR spot price by $10/ton

    Nucor increased its weekly hot-rolled coil spot list price by $10 per short ton (st) on Monday, Dec. 8. This was its seventh increase in as many weeks, moving up $55/st over that span.

    The Charlotte, N.C.-based steelmaker announced its HR consumer spot price (CSP) is $930/st this week, up from $920/st last week.

    Nucor’s West Coast joint venture, California Steel Industries (CSI), also increased its HR price to $980/st. That’s up $10/st week on week (w/w).

    Lead times for all spot orders remain at 3-5 weeks, Nucor said.

    SMU’s HRC price averaged $895/st fob mill, east of the Rockies, as of Tuesday, Dec. 2. That’s up $25/st w/w.
