    Written by David Schollaert

Nucor’s consumer spot price (CSP) for hot-rolled coil increased to $960 per short ton (st), up $10/st vs. the prior week.

It was the first increase in three weeks. To track steel mill price announcements, you can use the calendar on our website here.

The Charlotte, N.C.-based steelmaker said in a letter on Tuesday, Jan. 20, that the CSP for its West Coast joint venture, California Steel Industries (CSI), is also up $10/st w/w to $1,010/st.

Still, lead times of 3 to 5 weeks will continue to be offered, according to the letter.

SMU’s HRC spot price averaged $935/st fob mill, east of the Rockies, as of Tuesday, Jan. 13, up $5/st from the previous assessment.

We will update our prices on Tuesday evening, Jan. 20.
