Nucor ups HRC spot price by $5/ton, again

Nucor’s consumer spot price (CSP) for hot-rolled coil increased to $975 per short ton (st), up $5/st from last week.
The Charlotte, N.C.-based steelmaker said in a letter on Monday, Feb. 9, that the CSP for its West Coast joint venture, California Steel Industries (CSI), is also up $5/st w/w to $1,025/st.
Lead times of 3 to 5 weeks will continue to be offered, according to the letter.
SMU’s HRC spot price averaged $965/st fob mill, east of the Rockies, as of Tuesday, Feb. 3, up $5/st from the previous assessment.
