Nucor ups HRC spot price by $10/ton

Nucor’s consumer spot price (CSP) for hot-rolled coil increased to $990 per short ton (st), up $10/st from last week.
The Charlotte, N.C.-based steelmaker said in a letter on Monday, Feb. 23, that the CSP for its West Coast joint venture, California Steel Industries (CSI), is also up $10/st w/w to $1,040/st.
Lead times of 3 to 5 weeks will continue to be offered, according to the letter.
SMU’s HRC spot price averaged $975/st fob mill, east of the Rockies, as of Tuesday, Feb. 17, flat vs. the previous assessment.
