Written by Ethan Bernard
Mexican steel trade group Canacero has elected TenarisTamsa’s Sergio de la Maza Jiménez as its new president of the board of directors for 2026-27.
De la Maza serves as TenarisTamsa’s CEO. He replaces outgoing Canacero president Víctor Cairo, CEO of ArcelorMittal Mexico.
“We are a key industry in productive integration with the United States and Canada,” De La Maza said in a statement on Thursday from Canacero’s 78th Ordinary General Assembly (translated from Spanish).
“We will continue collaborating to build agreements that promote free trade, defend the domestic market, and ensure the sustainable development of our supply chains,” he added.
Mexico’s TenarisTamsa, part of Latin American steelmaker Tenaris, makes seamless steel pipes and fittings for the energy, automotive, mining, industrial, and construction industries.
