Trade case vs. large-diameter electrode imports continues after key injury decision

    Written by Laura Miller

The trade case filed in February investigating large-diameter graphite electrodes is progressing after an International Trade Commission (ITC) injury vote.

The ITC said it found enough evidence to suggest the US industry is being harmed by imports of graphite electrodes from China and India.

The electrodes are allegedly subsidized and being sold at less than fair value in the US market.

The Commerce Department continues its investigation into the imports and is set to issue preliminary anti-dumping and countervailing duty rates at the beginning of August.
