    Nucor raises HR spot price to $1,065/ton

    Nucor has increased its consumer spot price (CSP) for hot-rolled (HR) coil to $1,065 per short ton (st), a $10/st increase from last week.

    The Charlotte, N.C.-based steelmaker said in a letter to customers on Monday, April 27, the CSP for its West Coast joint venture, California Steel Industries (CSI), also increased by $10/st week over week (w/w) to $1,115/st.

    Nucor has now raised its CSP by $105/st since Jan 20.

    Lead times of 3 to 5 weeks will continue to be offered, according to the letter.

    SMU’s HRC spot price averaged $1,060/st fob mill, east of the Rockies, as of Tuesday, April 21, up $10/st vs. the previous week.
