Failed labor pact sparks UAW strike at one of GM's key suppliers

Members of the United Autoworkers (UAW) Local 2093 went on strike at Dauch Corp.’s (formerly named American Axle and Manufacturing) Three Rivers, Mich., facility on Monday.

The facility manufactures the automobile components and axles used in GM’s popular pick-up trucks. On Sunday evening, the local and national UAW leaders rallied members around the message that they were fighting for their fair share. Failing to reach an agreement with Dauch, workers began striking hours later at 12:01 a.m. ET when they walked out of the facility.
