    Written by David Schollaert

Nucor announced on Monday, July 13, that its consumer spot price (CSP) for hot-rolled (HR) coil will be $1,135 per short ton (st) for the week, up $5/st from last week.

The CSP for HR from CSI on the West Coast will be $1,185/st, also up $5/st.

Lead times of three to five weeks will continue to be offered, said a letter to customers.

This is Nucor’s first CSP price increase since mid-to-late June. It was a relatively small two-week pause after raising its HR spot price each week from Jan. 27 to June 22. The CSP is now up $380/st since late January.

SMU’s weekly price assessment noted HR coil prices at $1,160/st, on average, as of Tuesday, July 7.

We will update our prices on the evening of Tuesday, July 14.
