Nucor ups spot HR price by $10/ton, again

Nucor announced on Monday, Aug. 3, that its consumer spot price (CSP) for hot-rolled (HR) coil will be $1,155 per short ton (st) for the week, up $10/st from last week.

The CSP for HR from CSI on the West Coast will be $1,215/st, up $15/st vs. the prior week.

Lead times of three to five weeks will continue to be offered, said a letter to customers.

SMU’s weekly price assessment noted HR coil prices at $1,165/st, on average, as of Tuesday, July 28.

We will update our prices on the evening of Tuesday, Aug. 4.
