    Nucor hikes spot HR price by $10/ton

    Nucor said on Monday, Aug. 17, that its consumer spot price (CSP) for hot-rolled (HR) coil will be $1,170 per short ton (st) for the week, a $10/st increase from a week earlier.

    The CSP for HR from CSI on the West Coast will be $1,230 st, also up $10/st from the prior week.

    Lead times of three to five weeks will continue to be offered, according to a letter to customers.

    SMU’s weekly price assessment reported HR coil prices at an average of $1,180/st as of Tuesday, Aug. 11, unchanged from the previous week.

    We will update our prices on Tuesday, Aug. 18.
