Nucor hikes spot HR price by $10/ton

Nucor said on Monday, Aug. 24, that its consumer spot price (CSP) for hot-rolled (HR) coil will be $1,180 per short ton (st) for the week, a $10/st increase from a week earlier.

The CSP for HR from CSI on the West Coast will be $1,240/st, also up $10/st from the prior week.

Lead times of three to five weeks are still being offered, according to a letter to customers.

SMU’s weekly price assessment reported HR coil prices averaging $1,195/st as of Tuesday, Aug. 18, up $15/st from the previous week.
