The SSAB increase applies to all non-contract business on rolled mill plate, cut-to-length plate as well as hot rolled coils greater than 72″ in width. The SSAB increase includes normalized as well as quench-and-temper plate.
Nucor was the first to announce, which they did on Wednesday. SSAB followed the Nucor lead on Friday.
Flat rolled buyers need to be aware as we have seen plate price announcements preceding flat rolled announcements by a few days on a number of the recent flat rolled announcements.
Platts had their plate average at $640 per ton as of the end of this past week.
