Zekelman Industries has made changes to its leadership structure.
The Chicago-based pipe and tube maker has promoted Mickey McNamara to the role of president.
Barry Zekelman will continue as CEO, but McNamara will assume some of Barry’s day-to-day responsibilities.

McNamara has been with the company for 17 years, and his most recent role was as president of Zekelman Industries’ modular building subsidiary Z Modular.
“I am confident that under this new leadership structure, our company will advance its operational excellence while maintaining industry leadership,” Barry Zekelman said in a statement on March 17. The comments come from a letter sent to employees announcing the changes the previous week.
McNamara will focus “on operational excellence, technological advancements, and delivering greater value to customers,” while Barry Zekelman will prioritize “proactively managing the dynamic steel market and addressing the unprecedented challenges in the industry.”
McNamara will report directly to Barry Zekelman.
Muth moves up

Additionally, Tom Muth has been promoted to the role of president of Zekelman Industries’ pipe and tube business.
Muth started at Atlas Tube in 2005, where he has been leading the company’s tubular products for the past five years. Atlas is currently a division of Zekelman Industries.
Muth will report to McNamara “while overseeing the market segment presidents and supporting functional leaders.”
Zekelman is a family of operating companies that includes Atlas Tube, Picoma, Sharon Tube, Wheatland Tube, Western Tube, and Z Modular. It has 23 manufacturing locations and over 3,000 employees across North America.
