Nucor keeps HRC spot price at $950/ton

Nucor’s consumer spot price (CSP) for hot-rolled coil remains unchanged at $950 per short ton (st) for the fourth consecutive week.
The Charlotte, N.C.-based steelmaker said in a letter on Monday, Jan. 12, that the CSP for its West Coast joint venture, California Steel Industries (CSI), is also staying the same at $1,000/st.
Lead times of 3 to 5 weeks will continue to be offered, according to the letter.

SMU’s HRC spot price averaged $930/st fob mill, east of the Rockies, as of Tuesday, Jan. 6, up $20/st from the previous assessment.
