Final Thoughts: Tampa Steel less than a month away - register today!

    Written by Ethan Bernard

We are officially under 30 days away from the Tampa Steel Conference. And things are really starting to heat up. (Well, at least the temperatures in Florida are balmy, even if much of the rest of the country is frozen.)

If you haven’t registered yet, you can register here.

And with less than a month to go, ladies and gentlemen of steel, it’s time to start your networking engines. The conference app has arrived. Yes, your portal to contact the greatest minds of the North American steel industry sits comfortably in your pocket (in either Android or iPhone form).

Attendees should have received an email from conferences@crugroup.com with a QR code to download the app. That same email should also include your username (probably your email) and a password – a series of numbers. You can email that same “conferences” email above if you haven’t received it yet.

Think of it as you passport for the conference. It lists the agenda, allows you to submit questions to speakers, etc. And it will shows attendees and allows you to interact with them via the app. Again, that’s live as we speak. So now is the time to start setting up meetings and sending messages to future best friends.

More than 400 attendees have already signed up. And we’re already at over 250 companies.

Also, a quick update on the agenda. President of North Star BlueScope Steel Conrad Winkler will be unable to speak at the conference. While we are sorry he won’t have a chance to be on stage, we’ll be welcoming back Barry Zekelman for a fireside chat.

Zekelman, executive chairman and CEO of Chicago-based pipe and tube maker Zekelman Industries, last spoke with us at SMU Steel Summit in Atlanta in August. And his unique perspectives on Canada/US relations, the Canadian and US steel industries, and the Trump administration, among many other things, are always a crowd favorite.

Again, if you haven’t signed up yet for the conference, you can still do so here. And check out below a sampling of companies already attending. It’s a literal who’s who of the North American steel industry – and the list is growing every day.

We can’t wait to see you all there!
