    Nucor aims to hike plate prices by $50/ton

    Nucor on Friday announced plans to increase plate prices by $50 per short ton (st).

    The Charlotte, N.C.-based steelmaker made the announcement in tandem with the opening of its April orderbook.

    The company said the increase would apply to all orders that haven’t been confirmed by an order acknowledgement.
