Apparent Steel Supply

Steel Market Update calculates apparent steel supply for total steel products on a monthly basis. Apparent steel supply is calculated by taking the sum of domestic shipments and finished imports and subtracting exports. Our trade figures are represented in net tons (short tons) which are equal to 2,000 pounds. The data below has been scaled down to 1000’s of tons for easier viewing. This data is available to our Executive and Premium members and dates back to January 2010.
