Steel Market Update did not publish on Sunday evening due to the extended 4th of July holiday here in the United States. We know that there are a number of our readers who enjoy our Comparison Price Indices (CPI) articles on Sunday evening. Here is what the CPI looks like as of Monday evening:
Benchmark hot rolled was fairly stable over the past ten days with SMU and Platts holding steady while CRU dropped $3 per ton. SteelBenchmarker did not report new pricing last week. Our HRC average dropped by $2 per ton to $666 per ton.
The cold rolled average increase by $2 per ton while galvanized and Galvalume each rose by $5 per ton. Plate prices also rose (as an average) due to the change in the CRU which was up $6 per ton.
