The event is Monday-Wednesday, Aug. 21-23, in Atlanta at the Georgia International Convention Center (GICC).
We’ve got a host of great speakers lined up, including leaders from mills, service centers, and end-users, as well as analysts, economists, and more. The agenda for the event can be found here.
We’d love for everyone in the SMU Community to join us to hear the latest economic data, steel price forecasts, and the most important current events happening right now in the industry. And don’t forget the conference provides some of the best networking opportunities out there!
We’re just over a week away from the start of the event on Monday, Aug. 21, so we encourage you to register today and book your travel arrangements, if you haven’t already.
And if you’ve already registered – thank you! Be sure to download the conference app, where you can start networking and planning for the event. You’ll find the agenda, a list of speakers and exhibitors, access to the live Q&A platform, a list of attendees, and more.

Final thoughts
SMU has heard from some larger buyers who have stepped back into the market to buy at prices that, if not at a bottom, they assess to be close to one. Is it enough to stretch out lead times and send prices upward again? Or do we continue to scrape along the mid-$600s per short ton (st) as we have been doing for most of the last month?
