    Nucor's Utermark to retire in June

    Nucor Corp. announced that Chad Utermark, executive vice president of new markets and innovation, plans to retire effective June 7.

    Utermark started with the Charlotte, N.C.-based steelmaker in 1992 as a utility operator at Nucor Steel Arkansas.

    He has worked in various positions and businesses, including as hot mill manager at Nucor Steel Arkansas; roll mill manager at Nucor Steel Texas; vice president and general manager of Nucor Steel Texas; and vice president and general manager of Nucor-Yamato Steel Co. Utermark was promoted to executive vice president in 2014.

    “Chad’s unwavering commitment to Nucor’s culture and his genuine care for others has impacted the lives of thousands of Nucor team members, customers, and communities,” Leon Topalian, Nucor’s chair, president and CEO, said in the announcement on Friday.

    “In recent years, he brought our Expand Beyond vision to life, leading acquisitions that established our Nucor Data Systems, Nucor Door Technologies, Nucor Insulated Panel Group LLC, Nucor Towers & Structures Inc. and Nucor Warehouse Systems Inc. businesses,” Topalian said. “He leaves behind an incredible foundation for Nucor’s future, but also a lasting legacy as a consummate team player and a living example of our culture.”
