CRC price declines tighten US vs. EU gap

US cold-rolled (CR) coil prices continued to tick lower this week, with a similar trend seen in offshore markets.

The move narrowed the gap slightly between US prices and imports, even in the face of higher Section 232 tariffs, which doubled to 50% on June 3. While higher tariffs resulted in import prices soaring above US prices on a landed basis, sharper price cuts in offshore markets have narrowed the gap.
