- The workshop will tour the Nucor Gallatin steel mill for the first time. Nucor Gallatin has invested heavily in new equipment including a new galvanizing mill that is just now coming up and should be running well when we arrive in October.
- Instructors for this workshop will be John Packard (President & CEO of SMU, 31 years of active sales/purchasing/management experience in flat rolled representing a steel mill, trading companies and service centers), Roger Walburn (General Manager, Specialty Products for NLMK USA, and also a metallurgist), Chuck McDaniels (Principal of Mica Metal Solutions, a consulting company, and a metallurgist), and Mario Briccetti (Principal of Briccetti and Associates, a consulting company; Mario is also an engineer and purchasing specialist having been VP of Purchasing at Metal Sales Manufacturing, Gibraltar Strip Steel and Director of Supply Chain for Nordyne).
- The class will include people from steel mills, service centers, end users and possibly others associated with the industry. It is the diversity of our attendees that makes this program special.
