AIM Acquires Canadian Recycler Fern Piche & Sons

American Iron & Metal (AIM) has purchased Fern Piche & Sons Ltd., a metal recycler based in North Bay, Ontario, a company spokesperson confirmed to Steel Market Update.
Although the details of the strategic acquisition were not disclosed, Montreal, Québec-based AIM completed the deal on Dec. 1, extending its regional reach and adding to its worldwide capacity.
Fern Piche & Sons operates a sole yard in North Bay, where it has been in business for more than 40 years, providing services such as scrap collection, scrap pickup, scrap metal removal and on-site crushing, according to its website.
AIM is a global leader in the recovery and recycling of scrap metal and one of the most sophisticated metal recyclers in North America. At its more than 90 sites worldwide, AIM collects, weighs, sorts, conditions, and recycles scrap metals including iron, steel, copper, aluminum, stainless steel and various alloys.
